Description:
In 2000, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League received a matching fund offer from a charitable foundation. From this the 60th Anniversary Endowment was established in 2001. The Endowment was initially funded with the 60th Anniversary Thankoffering on Sunday, July 8, 2001, at the San Jose, California, LWML convention. LWML districts continued the Thankoffering through the 2002 district conventions. Funding after the Thankoffering came through generous and ongoing gifts. The 60th Anniversary Endowment was dedicated at the 2003 LWML Convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, thereafter to be known as the LWML Endowment Fund. Through the earnings of this instrument the Lutheran Women's Missionary League will be able to continue to
Encourage mission education, inspiration and service;
Offer assistance in mission-ministry worldwide;
Provide programs and materials;
Train and equip leaders;
Enhance mission-ministry into the future.
Gifts and memorials may be added to this endowment at any time. Earnings from the endowment will be used to train and equip LWML leaders, provide programming and carry out the LWML mission.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
